The next time i blog it will be from within the hub of activity. You can follow us on tweeting more regularly from there later this afternoon, the Facebook group and the blog.
In the words of the CANSA newsletter last year : “Many people thought this was just another excuse to ‘get away from home,’ but the sponsorships from Metropolitan and Rola Motor Group, as well as all the coverage received over the past years, proved everybody wrong. This challenge is not a race, it is a handful of volunteers participating in an event as proud ambassadors for CANSA.
And proud volunteers they are. After a challenging day yesterday and a very successful auction last night at the Misverstand Dam, the guys albeit a little stiff, but totally inspired, are on their way for the 3rd leg of the race (90kms), from the dam to the Rivera Hotel in Velddrif, ETA 15h30 round about.
Tonight's auction and dinner will take place at the Long Acres Wine Estate in Langebaan.
Thanks to De Villiers Botha and oom Joe Marinkowitz who both pledged a R1000 last night, and paid in the money this morning.
Also a great thank you for the 2 items from Bespoke Mitat (die Pasella slippers)
Program for the next 3 day's challenge now posted.
Thanks again for all your support, keep it coming. They guys need it, it is cold, it is wet, but they are on a high!

They guys only finished at 17h00 today. Reports are that it was a tough day with lots of obstacles. If it was anything as cold as in Cape Town, they had a freezing day but at least a hot shower tonight were they are staying at Club Elani, with hosts oom Andre & tannie Joe.

Hi guys The guys have just reached the halfway mark for today and are currently at Hofmansdrift. The river is not so friendly today in terms of branches and obstacles and they had to lift the boats a couple of times. But they are all still in good spirit and enjoying the trip. After lunch they will be ducking to Misverstand Dam, where they will overnight and again i am sure will have loads of fun tonight.
